Where Is Morden Driving Test Centre?
Morden Driving Test Centre is located at 10 Tudor Drive, Morden, SM4 4PE — above a barber shop on a residential road, which makes it easy to miss if you have never been before. We strongly recommend doing a dry run before your test date so you know exactly where you are going and how long the journey takes.
There is no dedicated parking at the test centre. You will need to park legally on Tudor Drive or one of the surrounding streets. The centre operates approximately 8:00am to 4:30pm on weekdays.
You can book your practical test through the official DVSA booking service. To plan your route beforehand, view Morden Driving Test Centre on Google Maps.
What Is the Pass Rate at Morden?
Morden consistently performs above the London average. The London-wide pass rate sits at around 40.8% — below the UK national average of 45.9% — largely due to the complexity and volume of London traffic. Morden regularly achieves a pass rate of around 46–48%, making it one of the better-performing centres in the capital.
That said, your own preparation will always matter more than the statistics. A higher pass rate will not help if you are not ready.
What Are the Morden Test Routes Like?
Morden test routes are genuinely varied, which rewards well-rounded preparation. Examiners take candidates through a mix of:
- Quiet residential streets around the SM4 area
- Busier sections of the A24 London Road, including dual carriageway driving
- The A297 St Helier Avenue, including bus lanes
- The Morden Station roundabout and surrounding gyratory system
- 20mph zones in residential areas requiring careful speed management
- Pedestrian crossings, parked vehicles and school zones
The variety is deliberate. Examiners assess your ability to adapt across different road types — not just drive well in one environment.
What Manoeuvres Might You Be Asked to Do?
Under the current DVSA test format, you will be asked to carry out one manoeuvre from the following:
- Parallel parking at the side of the road
- Forward or reverse bay parking
- Pulling up on the right side of the road and reversing back
You will also have around 20 minutes of independent driving using either a sat nav or road signs. This section catches many learners out — practise it properly during your lessons.
How to Prepare for Your Morden Test
The most effective preparation is training on the real routes. At Moon Driving School, we base our lessons around the actual roads used by Morden examiners — so by test day, every junction feels familiar rather than unknown.
We also offer mock driving tests conducted near the test centre, giving you the closest possible experience to the real thing before the day that counts. A full debrief follows, covering exactly what went well and what needs attention.
